Rio Wallpaper

Welcome to paradise! Rio the movie is a samba-fest and then some. So do you want to party?

Blu is the typical anti-hero, a macaw that doesn't know how to fly and who prefers to stay in his cage! In Minnesota! Alas, he does manage to save the day in the end, and even set up a family.

Jewel is another matter altogether. She wants to be free and will do anything to get her liberty. A bird with an attitude, she does end up falling in love with Blu.

Nico and Pedro, a cardinal and a canary, are the best of friends. They have a kind heart, but surely know how to set up a party with the right moves and the slick tunes. They also know how to give some advice to Blu.

What can we say about Rafael? He is a family man, and although not in his nature he stays close to support his family. This toucan is essential in setting Blu and Jewel free from their shackles, and then to get them close together again.

Like their feathered friends, Tullio and Linda have a soft spot for each other although coming from different backgrounds. But anyway this is not their story.

Nigel is the cockatoo villain with a silly laugh to match. He is ugly, a bully, and a cannibal. So everyone is happy when he gets what he deserves.

Luiz is not a bird! Ha! No he is a bulldog and a mechanic to boot. He somehow helps to set the two blue macaws free, but is actually more keen to dress up for carnival.

Worzel Gummidge Wallpaper

This is one of those things that I remember fondly from my youth. It doesn't seem that a lot of people remember this tv series from the end of the 1970's these days, so here's a quick recap.

Worzel Gummidge was originally the lead character (a scarecrow really) in a 1936 book by Barbara Euphan Todd. It is a children's book, not one of those that you read in one sitting since its over 200 pages, but it is a good read. And it was followed by a number of sequels. Last time I looked on Amazon, there were used copies of these books being sold at 1 pence.

Then there's the tv series, which is the one which I actually remember. Down here we see the crowman. His job is to make scarecrows for the people in Scatterbrook to use in their fields. Thing is, all of his scarecrows come to life when no one is looking, and one of them in particular (Worzel) is the cause of all his troubles.

Worzel befriends two children who have recently come to live in Scatterbrook with their father. They are the only humans that know the truth about Worzel, and most of the time they end up trying to cover up after his antics. However, most of the time Worzel treats the children just as two pests.

Worzel falls in love with an Aunt Sally, who is a very precious antique doll who also comes to life. Although she is originally a fairground doll that was used as a target for throwing competitions, she fancies herself as the stuff of princes and does not want to marry a scarecrow. Never giving up, Worzel keeps running after her, but the only things he gets are a barrage of insults and sometimes a pie in the face.

Worzel doesn't have anything special to write home about, apart from a big heart where a robin's nest resides. He often leads a simple life without having any valuable possessions. However, Worzel has a number of heads that he can resort to in order to improve his abilities. For example, if he wants to read he tosses away his head and puts on his reading head. Likewise he dons his singing head to join the choir, and the wangling head for, you know, fishing!

Four Seasons Wallpaper

Flash news: this year we are going to have 4 seasons! Yeah I know there are 4 seasons every year, but I'm talking about the 4 seasons wallpaper page, you see. Now ain't these pictures below nice to place on your desktop?

It's astounding how much the same spot on earth changes throughout the cycle of one year.

I quite like these four-seasons-in-a-glass ball ornaments.

Whilst one side of the earth is scorching hot, the opposite side is freezing!

Now let us start with the individual seasons. Spring looks nice and smells nice, and you get it inside your laundry liquid too!

Winter is all cold and harsh, what with wet clothes and getting sick and all, but on the other hand we do have some holidays, bringing pudding, whisky and presents.

In autumn (or fall for all you other lot) we have to get the broom out and sweep away the leaves. Luckily this is also the season for the big video game releases.

Oh summer! Just sit back, relax with a cold drink, go for a swim, rinse and repeat until it starts feeling colder.

And the winner is: Spring! The way me sees it is that it brings life to that nature that we all call mother. Come back again for some great wallpaper images I have for you soon. See you then.

Scribblenauts Wallpaper

Meet Maxwell. Maxwell has the ability to bring anything into life just by writing it down on his notepad. Some people may actually write "World Peace" if they had such a thing, but I would probably write for a sailing boat and a chef.

Maxwell stars in this game called Scribblenauts, although players may actually decide to swap him with some more likable avatars as they become unlocked.

The game is simple, but the controls are some of the most irritating around. However the characters, environments and puzzles keep the player coming back for more.

There are different ways that any particular situation can be handled, and usually ingenuity brings bigger rewards. Prepare to die a thousand times though, even after you know what needs to be done.

Voted as the best handheld game of 2010, I'm sure that its developers had happy holidays whilst they wrote some stuff in their notebooks to have it materialized in their mailboxes.

Now I have to go and try this carrot on a stick thingy that keeps appearing in these wallpaper images. Maybe it is the trick to unlock everything. So long then, feel free to download and come visit us again soon.

DeskDeco 2 Update 1

About three months ago, we released the long-awaited DeskDeco 2, our wallpaper management software that lets you easily manage the desktop images on Windows systems. While version 2 was a rewrite of the original DeskDeco for the .Net framework, this update adds some features that actually make use of the added leg room that this framework provides.

The complete list of changes is as follows:
  • Wider list width, so longer filenames can be shown.
  • If the list width is still not enough, added tooltip to show the filename where the mouse is currently hovering upon.
  • Re-added the manual selection feature, which went missing from the last version after a last minute update.
  • File filter now supports more file formats.
  • Replaced some more code that makes use of deprecated functions.
  • Option to include the pictures from all of the subfolders.
  • The folder list is now updated only during start-up or when certain settings are changed. This is because with the Include Subfolders option, the list may take longer to update.
  • Removed color effects button.
  • Removed the option to copy the selected picture to the DeskDeco folder as it has no more practical use today.
  • After startup, DeskDeco is minimized to the tray.

X-Men: First Class Wallpaper

If I had any say in the making of this superhero flick, I would have called this film X-Men: The Making of a Villain because that is what it's all about. Anyway, that logo sure looks cool and will look even better on your desktop.

Here are the main mutants, ready to show off their powers. Who would have thought that they were responsible for the Cuban missile crisis, having some mutants start the crisis and the other ones thwarting their efforts just in time.

The face of a good guy is represented by James McAvoy who plays Charles Xavier. His power lies in reading and controlling minds. He becomes the leader of the X-Men, who are apparently named after him.

Sebastian Shaw, who is played by Kevin Bacon, tries really hard to act like the main villain, but ultimately he is just the fuel for the monster that he has created. His special power is to absorb energy to then shoot it back, which is pretty handy if you ask me.

And here he is ladies and gentlemen, the true main villain Magneto. In this movie we see this character being shaped into what he is now, and sometimes we are made to feel sorry for him even if he is hell-bent to destroy humanity. He is played by Michael Fassbender and his special power is that he is a magnet.

Raven is a shape-shifter, played by Jennifer Lawrence. We can only watch unable to do anything while she is having personality issues. She thinks that her original form is an aberration of nature, so most of the time she keeps her human form. Later as she comes to accept her nature, she prefers to be called Mystique.

However I will let you decide which one of Raven's forms you like best for downloading on your desktop. The human one above or the mutant one below. Choice can be so difficult sometimes, although your preference about blue skin could make all the difference.

Lastly, here's a picture of the other major female mutant. And frankly, I don't have anything much to say about the rest of the mutant kids. January Jones plays Emma Frost, who also possesses the mind-reading skills of Xavier with the added ability to turn her skin into a diamond.
